Not so obvious (well, not for me :p), but easy to sort :p
The ordered list containing the content to be scrolled is filled as
part of a json request, the onSuccess even calling the function that
does the dirty work, the code to get the various sizes was being run
in a domready event so it seems that unless the alert was there to
slow things down a little the list wasn't populated properly when I
was trying to get the size!
