I certainly don't like to patch the source as updates become rather painful - however, although I'm not an expert when it comes to javascript, I think you're example only works because you already had a lightbox link in the html when initiating the script - as mentioned above, I still think the script fails, if there are no lightbox links available upon initializing - see here yourself: http://mooshell.net/ztxh6/
