I unintentionally led this thread off topic.

The image needed is a circle going from opaque white in the center to
fully transparent at the edges.
But I imagine we should continue - via email or otherwise - off this
thread.

Anyone who is willing to aid with their artistic ability should please

No, I meant that to write such an article clearly I would need to make
my own images, such as one of a simplified color wheel.
