I built a prototype of it on mooshell http://mootools.net/shell/judGJ/
it's as a way of garbage collecting (i know it's bad design to leave off deferred functions without storing their timeout uid but there you go, can't always keep track of it all). it can be a global function like i have done ($clearTimeouts) but it may have another solution - the example works fine (tested in FF) - obviously, the core team can probably do a more elegant job of it - i just think it will be useful.
