just a a side note - IMO you should never use keypress. use key down instead. And if you want to find special chars, the best way is to listen to their combination. http://jsfiddle.net/ariehg/zZKr2/
todo - another bug to file (later today) - it seems event.key has many bugs. doesn't recognize shift either.
