Side note #1: the onChange handler for the scroller is not mandatory, but I
had to do exactly that just this morning as I had a list which included
items which had overflow in X as well.

Side note #2: Arian's mouse handler code at the top is now 'dead code' --
hit 'update' in fiddle before deleting that piece.
