There are numerous written introductions, the most popular of which I authored (the mootorial) but it's out of date. Ryan's and Keeto's work are also awesome. The fact that there isn't one *on MooTools.net* is a shortcoming that we are working to remedy.
The MooTorial (written for 1.2) is still quite useful; the syntax changes between 1.2 and 1.4 aren't trivial, but 99% of the concepts are still illustrative.
