It's an interesting thing, life and coincidences.  I told you previously I had met John Astin while working with his wife at the time Patty Duke. I also know Glenn very well as he brings his posters into my shop for framing and we always shoot the breeze.  What has always been interesting to me is that Glenn and John have very similar personalities, very low key, funny, and very kind. Of course, when I first met Glenn I thought and probably said to him, "you know, you look just like John Astin."  He probably laughed and then told me he played Gomez in the new show. Talk about type casting. Anyway, I'm a firm believer that some things just aren't coincidence.
Take care all.

As always Sue's insight is spot on!

And, confidentially, John Astin agrees!

Here's a Twilight Zone moment if ever there was one...

When I first met John at a film festival, 5 years before I worked on the Addams Family, I related how folks always told me I look like him.  He replied that he should be so lucky.  I told him he had to sign a picture to me with that phrase.

True to his word he came back a few days later with a small photo with that inscription.  Five years later I was cast as Gomez and John came in to play my Grandfather. I brought him into my dressing room to show him the photo he had given me years before.

Talk about a true Hollywood story straight out of Ripley's Believe It Or Not.

Yea Glenn,
For those of you that don't know, Glenn is an actor and played Gomez Addams in the television remake of the Addams Family several years back. My youngest daughter has her signed picture of him hanging in her bedroom as she loves Addams Family also. I have raised both my daughter cinematically correctly. I worked with John Astin and Patty Duke when they were married and Glenn, when he has his moustache grown in,  is a dead ringer, except Glenn is more handsome. John Astin is a wonderfully kind man and very funny. He did so many character roles in 50's and early 60's television and films and was always great. I love the Addams Family too. My best friend was the special effects director on the Addams Family films done several years back and while his work was very good, I just couldn't get into the movies. The television series set such a high standard for me, the movie renditions didn't even come close.

I like the Munsters but I am obviously and completely prejudiced when it comes to my love for the Addams Family and the work of John  Astin.
