[MOPO] Another Film composer gone

I sadly report to the List:

 

Elmer Bernstein, the amazingly prolific composer who wrote the memorable theme for The Magnificent Seven among other scores, died Wednesday in his sleep at his home in Ojai, California; he was 82.

He continued to do so much for preserving via modern recordings of his own and others' film  music works.

I have a wonderful cd of E Bernstein conducting music by Bernard Herrmann that is is terrific as his work with his own music.

 

How many scores over the years???

To Kill a Mockingbird

The Magnificent Seven

The Ten Commandments

The Sons of Katie Elder (where is a cd release !!??!!???)

And so many more for the last almost-half-century.
