Donnie just posted an incredibly simply solution to the eBay "Buy It Now" problem. It is so simple and low-cost that it is absolutely amazing that eBay has not put it into place already. It would work. It bears repeating for those who missed it:
 
"Consider this...

Why don't they add a simple "human recognition screen" immediately
after you press "buy it now"
But BEFORE you can "CONFIRM"
You know... One of those little boxes with the squiggly numbers &
letters that a computer/robot can't resolve?
This would make these "serial bidders" manually enter every auction.
This would of course GREATLY reduce the impact of their STUPID
& ARBITRARY 3 day reign-of-terror policy...
Based upon eBay's cumbersome/sluggish systems?
I figure the tally would drop from roughly 18,000 screwed up auctions...
to maybe 5 or 6"
