Over at Wal-Mart this week I noticed they had ONE DOLLAR DVD'S !!!!
some cool stuff, even though varying quality prints.
included stuff like DOA, Farewell to Arms, Robin Hood TV, Burns & Allen, Dragnet, Big Trees (Kirk Douglas), and other stuff
one film was 4 Dueces with Jack Palance.. a pretty awful theatrical with bad script, bad acting, bad direction & lots of other bad crap. But there was an interesting aspect to the film from the opening credits you see Palance (the crime lord) reading first a coverless copy of Detective #27 (1st Batman). I'm sure it was one of the oversized reprints but it was a cool aspect. Then he is shown reading a rare Buck Rogers big little book, then a Dick Tracy blb, then others and at one point you see him in front of a shelf that has about 50 blb's on it which I thought was surprising prop usage.
It was filmed in 74-75, so the books might have cost $20-50 each
I havent finished watching it.. kinda boring... but I wonder what else he'll be reading.
