Toochis, don't get me started!

The Australian Halloween OS is pretty special, as is the Halloween 4 OS,
the Halloween 2 Japanese art, the foreign artwork for Monster (aka
Humanoids from the Deep), was used in Aus, Spanish, few others I'm sure,
bikini babe about to be attacked by some big hairy monster (something
tells me this poster will be sought after in years to come, it's got
that 50s monster movie feel to it, not that I'm familiar with those
films, but it's so cheesy it's brilliant!). Geez, almost my entire
collection consists of horror posters! The Scream 2 ADV is pretty nice,
some Japanese artwork for Prom Night has Jamie Lee in a pink dress, if
you've ever seen this POSTER (I have the chirashi) please let me know,
the one Japanese poster I do have for Prom Night is ordinary and so
un-Japanese!

As a kid I always hated going into the video shop because the horror
titles were on a top shelf and the skull Halloween 2 art always freaked
me a little. I still can't watch Mortuary in the dark. Under-rated flick
that one, but watch it alone, otherwise you'll spend the entire time
laughing at Bill Paxton playing a psycho and not the most unsettling
movie I've ever seen.

Modern titles like Urban Legend, I know What you Did Last Summer and
Carrie 2 all have striking artwork, even if studios have ignored the
beauty of a painted artwork for the modern take on the movie poster.

Other notables:
House by the Cemetery Quad
Cauldron of Death US OS

I'm sure I could list more if I remembered a little.

I'm showing my age though aren't I? I saw I Walked With a Zombie last
week, stunning film, though far removed from what we call horror in the
modern age. I rewatched Halloween 2 recently and was struck by how
incredibly violent the film is, it has none of the subtlety of its
predecessor. But then I suppose fans of films like Halloween 2 are the
type who think that the bloodletting of the TCM remake make it a
masterpiece. Sometimes it's what you don't see that scares you...

Of course Halloween means almost nothing to those of us here in
Australia, it's the wrong time of the year for it for a start, and the
only kids who ever come to my door are in their school uniforms carrying
a plastic bag hoping you're stupid enough to pay that. Sorry kids, it
ain't gonna happen!
