Hi Shelley:
Yeah you're right; reading over what I wrote (which I should do more often before I push the "send" key), I see that I keep falling into the same self-inflicted traps. I didn't mean to be bullying in response to Amanda's posts; I believe what I believe even if it's not right. I'm wrong more than half the time. At least she's participating; and I don't want to turn her or anyone off. There's no doubt in my mind she's passionate about what she believes and that means everything to me, whether I'm at work, home or elsewhere. And I don't mind being knocked off my horse on occasion; it's not difficult. I get slammed every day at the office; I encourage it. But few try at MoPo even though there's no doubt some would like me to fall on my a**. Anyway, sorry, Shelley. I've always thought you're a sweetie (no lie).
Meantime, I don't like to make announcements about an impending "departure" from MoPo (what's the deal with that?), cuz in my view, that's really self-referential; shoot, it's almost self-"reverential." (Donnie: why do you do that? I mean telling people you're leaving, you know, making an announcement and stuff? I was truthful when I said I wasn't used to your writing style, but I've got no personal gripe against you; in fact you handled the Eugene stuff pretty well at the end; that link to his hateful website is what got me to write to MoPo after a long "break.") You've got your style so why change? One thing I've noticed since coming back, though, is the use of the f-word and other PG-13/R-rated phrases in public posts. Heck, I know you see this all the time at other news groups and public blogs -- but while I do talk "NC-17" with friends -- it just looks harsh in writing. I don't care for it personally. OK, enough from (and about) me.

Hello everyone
Amanda has been more active in her short stint as a member of MOPO than most and isn't that a good thing, as David has pointed out. Well, I think it is. I often scold myself for not being more active but sometimes it's hard to come up with a new thread or even a response to an old rusty one. Or there are just those times when I am so tired, frustrated (or even annoyed) with what is going on that I don't have the energy to beome embroiled in it all too deeply.
David - I believe you are being a wee bit harsh. I don't think Amanda was tarring all of the wealthier collectors with the same brush and the idea of bullying ... well, we're all big boys and girls .. and Amanda is a strong independent young women, who is also a sweetie.
However, I'm glad to see you posting again after your vacation from MOPO and if it takes posts from people like the lovely Amanda to get you back in the habit of it, then hurrah for Amanda.
You go, girl! And you do David K.
Shelly
