Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We have been
through this issue previously about the frames that Robert offers and mine.
Robert's frames are front loader frames with pieces of plastic to sandwich your
poster between. As we discussed earlier, not what you would use for collectable
pieces. Also, you couldn't put a linenbacked poster in those frames, not
only due to size but the weight of the linenbacked poster would sag and fall out
of the frame. I know this frame, as I have had several customers who had
bought one in the past bring it into my shop because it wasn't working for their
particular purposes. As I said previously, the front loader frames, no matter
who is selling them, is fine for display of a non value
appreciating, non mounted or linenbacked poster. I had one guy who had
bought some and then wanted to put a piece of plexiglass and acid free backing
in the frame and just use the frame skeleton and it couldn't be done
because the channel of the frame wasn't thick enough. It is thick enough
for a poster and a couple pieces of thin plastic. My frames are actually
very easy to change posters in and out of as many of you on the list can attest
to and do frequently. The reason that you possibly don't do so, Philipp, is that
you have many linenbacked posters that I cut the frames to specific sizes for
and that frame is for that particular posters. I ship about a thousand frames a
month to customers from ebay who regularly switch their posters in and out of.
Remember, also, the frames I make are made with genuine 1/8" UV filtered
plexiglass and either ph neutral backing or museum conservation backing. To top
it off, you all get them for my cost. A totally archival frame for a one sheet
is $79. The economy frame which still includes the genuine 1/8" UV filtered
plexiglass and ph neutral backing is for sale on ebay for $38.95. Nobody offers
anything like that. Philipp buys the deluxe frame from me which is the top of
the line frame with museum conservation and the cost is $99. As many of you
know, because you have checked in your own areas, a frame of that caliber is
about $350-$400 in a retail store.

the facts and here you go.
