Cost of one-sheets and banners are
dependent upon agreements between studios and theaters. No two chains or
independent theater for that matter, will have the same pricing structure. The
bigger the chain the cheaper the posters though. Most pay a set charge for the
year regardless if they get 100 or 100,000 posters sent to them. Obviously this
is because of the revenue the big boys bring in. Same thing with the banners,
however, small theaters tend to have a tougher time getting the quality titles.
At no time does the theater obtain
ownership of these materials though. It is still the property of the studios
and the theaters are in essence leasing these items. That is why Lucas tends to
push so hard on these items not being sold. Heaven forbid he not get his .80 on
the dollar for something with his name on it.
