Michael,

Even though I have seen people linen back MINT posters, most of the time people will only back a poster if it needs some type of restoration, no matter how minor.  Even a small light stain or some minor fold separation at the crossfolds.  A poster with these minor defects will look MINT after linen backing and would be very hard to detect what was wrong with it to begin with, especially to most collectors.

Personally, I won't linen back a poster unless it needs it, especially a valuable poster like Invasion of the Saucermen.

I've seen many people list a linen backed poster and say it was Near Mint or Mint before backing.
I wouldn't be surprised if this poster needed something and that is the reason it was backed.

Hello all

I believe one of these sold at auction in Toronto, two years back, for around $10 000 CDN so that would make this price pretty well in line...maybe a little better.  I could be wrong but that's the number that seems to stick in my mind.

My biggest problem with this is the fact that the seller had a NM poster and backed it.  What a waste and a good opportunity for a mistake to occur.  Does anybody feel, as I do, that the poster would be of a higher value if it were NM and unbacked?

All the vest,
Michael

Is anyone else as surprised as I am re the 7k plus
price realized on this one sheet? I thought it would
go for around 4k. I see that our own Mr. Peterson
bought it. Maybe he can shed some light or maybe I've
lost track of this poster's value?
