This is thing I've been hearing for the past year from sellers and others. They want MPB to deliver lots and lots of bidders BEFORE they put up lots and lots of auctions for them to bid on. Someone tell me exactly how to do that -- besides what we've already done?  I'll be glad to accommodate.

But don't tell me "advertise more" because that won't work at this point. Here's why:

After the initial advertising, which is now completed, further advertising only works if there is a large inventory of posters up for auction for people to see when they respond to the advertising. If they see an ad for MPB and go to the site and there are NOT lots of items there for them to look at and bid on, what good has it done to advertise and bring them to the site? The posters MUST be there or the advertising money is simply wasted.

The initial advertising has worked well, with the sellers that have participated in the site so far. MPB currently has a good audience of regular bidders. It is now at the point where the only way it can grow an even larger audience quickly is for more sellers to list more auctions on a regular basis. And to advertise their MPB auctions to their list of past customers (which will include eBay bidders and so and bring them over to MPB). Look, people will go to where the posters are listed. It's that simple. Without a lot more listings, all of the advertising in the world isn't going to do any good.

By the way, MPB already attracts hundreds of viewers per day -- when there are a lots of good posters up for auction to attract them. We've proven that time and time again.

The simple fact is this: We are now at the point where a lot more sellers must commit to MPB if they truly wish it to become what they claim they want it to be. They can't just continue to sit around and say "Yeah, well, when I can see that MPB is delivering thousands of viewers every day, then I'll be glad to participate..."

I agree with robert. For Mopobid to work you have to have some sort of ratio between sellers and buyers.

e.g. 1 seller to 100 buyers

Otherwise the sellers are competing for too few buyers.

Perhaps you should consider limiting the number of sellers allowed on the site and focus on increasing the number of buyers.

This type of call seems aimed at dealers, but it is only worthwhile if it is aimed at bidders too. Intrigued by the current talk I visited the sight again and sure enough there are dozens of quality items at fair and even below market value. But there are not dozens of bids. If you want dealers to deal more and investors to even consider the potential you have to at least show that there is a chance to make money there. Right now it's kinda sad.
