Rod - Okay - you win. Your sense of humour is
blacker than mine or my even
darker-minded partner. While I'm no fan of the pro-gun lobby anywhere (guns don't kill people, people kill people.... yeah, but maybe if you couldn't go buy one off the shelf so easily maybe less people would kill people with guns, ad nausea debate).... I think maybe this one over-reached on the bad taste front. But I'm also able to disassociate myself from Mr Heston's political views on gun ownership, admire his outstanding body of work as an actor and his extraordinarily brave stand when he retired from public life. Presumably in the same way that Right-wingers can recognise the talents of a Sean Penn or Tim Robbins (hired by long-time Republican Clint Eastwood...) or know that Alfred Hitchcock left something to be desired in his personal relationships with some of his actors but was still a great director, or that any number of artists from all the arts have unsavoury aspects to their characters... just like we all do.
