Gee Ves, that's a toughie. I know some dealers who will trust each other's
judgement or honour each other's opinion sometimes will talk about pricing,
particularly if it's in an area they are not conversant with. I certainly
know professional sellers that I can talk to and who talk to me about such
matters, and have done for years. Among the old school pro sellers/dealers,
knowledge about material is seen generally as knowledge and it's a shared
thing, because so little of the area in which we work is actually written
down.

I've had my fair share of Martian Brain Suckers over the years with their,
"Gee, will you be my friend... and btw, what's this daybill worth, and is
this one hard to find?" Etc etc.

Having run their course with me (or one of the other long time sellers) they
usually end up starting their auctions at 99 cents for stuff they don't know
about (saving BIG on their eBay bill... ) and letting the market and their
friends decide the outcome, subsidise shipping costs to make a sale, run out
of stock and drift into something else having made a few bucks out of their
sales. Lots of them don't even know anything about the movies they are
selling the paper for.

So it's a LITTLE BRITAIN answer I'm giving there, "yes, no, yes, yes, no, I
mean,. yes, no..."

No help at all, really, was it?

Best,
Phil'
