Doug,

One of the first places to check for info like this is the LAMP poster database at www.learnaboutmovieposters.com -- even though Ed and Sue had a server crash which forced them to rebuild the database, they are getting up to speed on it now and there is usually info and pictures on most titles. In the case of Amelie, LAMP does not indicate any US paper, and shows pictures of the Italian poster and a Japanese version (nowhere near as good as the Italian). This doesn't mean for sure that there isn't any US paper, but it's a good indication that there might not be.

Sometimes when I'm looking for a second opinion I actually go to www.moviegoods.com -- which I'm sure horrifies some people... Yes, they sell almost exclusively prints and reproductions, but they do list one heck of a lot of titles and often have examples of Style B, C, half-sheets and overseas variations that can be hard to find a picture of anywhere else. On Amelie, however, they only show the Italian, which kind of tends to confirm the info on LAMP that there is no US paper.

Subject: [MOPO] Amelie help, please

I love this film and the whimsical image (green background, smiling face) associated with it. I know nothing about the posters, though.

What, if any, one sheet paper was issued in the US? Is it the same image we associate with the film?

What size is the French equivalent of a one sheet and was that poster used in the US?

Thanks for the help. Obviously, I'm trying to figure out what I want to buy.

DBT
