Thanks for the comments.

It’s all in fun, and it’s working to generate discussion and give me more poster ideas.

I agree that the Saul Bass omission is a mistake.

I also agree that Reservoir Dogs is not special, but I couldn’t resist the stripes for originality!

No Vertigo? No way!!!
Want BORDERTOWN?
Want STAGECOACH? I have that.

& I've got a handle on PETRIFIED FOREST!

I would never include FRANKENSTEIN (either of them) on this list.
AMERICAN GIGOLO good original choice.
TAXI DRIVER OK, but Pelleart did better work in ROCK DREAMS.
X on MAN FROM PLANET X, put in DOCTOR X instead if you gotta have an X
THIS GUN FOR HIRE overrated; does not look like Lake.
RESERVOIR DOGS. Doug, be serious.
TOBOR, no.
DIAL M FOR MURDER 3 sheet better than 1 sh

I unreservedly agree with you on:
GILDA B
DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL
FORBIDDEN PLANET
OUT OF THE PAST
THE MUMMY
ALL QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT
I AM A FUGITVE FROM A CHAIN GANG.

You need BLUE DAHLIA m i n t.

Well, after thinking about that odd Premier Magazine top 50 poster list, I decided to do my own.

The following is my list of the top 50 US one sheets of all time.  I’ve tried to choose posters based on 4 criteria; aesthetic value, iconic image, “representative of the genre” and “capturing the essence of the film”.  I realize it’s very broad, but thought it might be fun.  I’m sure everyone will agree with my rankings exactly (smile).
