I was speaking to my rep at ebay last month and he told me that 9 times out
of 10 the reason a dealer's auctions are closed is that another person reports
them, often for some small infraction, just to get their auctions closed.
I had several of my auctions closed because they said my Fedex logo in my
listings was too large. I didn't even know I was committing an infraction. I
just had the logo there to let people know how I ship their frames. Ebay told me
informed me of pixel restrictions. I just deleted the logo from all my auctions.
It was really small anyway, I thought. I was reported by a guy on ebay that
sells plastic frames. He is constantly trying to get me thrown off ebay.
The killer is that I went and looked at his auctions and the logo for his
shipping company was about three times the size I had used for Fedex. What are
going to do? It's not worth my time or karma to go and counter-report
him. He'll eventually get his. However, usually they give you a
warning or close some auctions down, not go to the full extent of throwing you
off ebay.

he reffered to some other auction site that possibly he is
planning
but the bottom line..... this is one more example of the heavy
handed SS
attitude that eBay has had all along.. I have had my main account
shut down
or my auctions ended so many times for minor crap that I no
longer sell on
ebay (thanks JR for MoPoBID)
I haven't liked ebay in
a long time as a seller, even though I have sold
something like a
quarter-million there since 1998
the simple facts are that eBay has
borne down with it's heavy foot one more
time, and I suspect it may
actually push Bruce in the direction he's been
going (wanting to sell
elsewhere) and that it will hasten Bruce's departure
from eBay as his
auction venue.
JR, if you're reading this.. the time to make your
overture to Bruce IS
NOW!
