Many people in the UK have multiregional players (I do have one) but there are still those who don't!
My bugbear is the fact NTSC region 1 get released before the others .. sometimes considerably well in advance of region 2, 3, 4 etc ! For titles that are will ONLY ever be available in NTSC , I give in and get them.

Why not get a multi-region DVD player so you're not beholden to the studios' artificial region restrictions? The Pioneer DVD-575 is only �100 from <http://ws4.richersounds.com/home.php> and it can transcode from NTSC to PAL (and PAL to NTSC) if your TV is PAL-only, and it plays SACDs and DVD-A disks. I had one shipped from the UK a few months ago so I could buy all the great UK TV DVDs that'll never see the light of day in the US.

Thanks for this piece of news! I guess the PAL region 2 version won't be too long behind it .. but still enough behind to give me the needle.
I know the thinking behind staggered region releases, but that doesn't mean I have to like it.
