Time for a comment...
Please remember that there are limitations to communication via computer and
that these electronic "words on a screen" will sometimes betray you when you
are counting on them most.
These electronic words do not allow for FACIAL EXPRESSION; no wink, smile,
or raised eyebrow. These electronic words do not allow for a varying TONE;
no softness, no yelling, no laughter. But these words DO have the power to
HURT and BELITTLE as some recent posts have demonstrated.
There are a few of you who need a remedial course in dealing with these
"words on a screen." It should be mandatory that you read a post at least
twice before you fire off any response to make sure you truly understand
what the "words on a screen" actually say. There's no worse feeling than
realizing after hitting the SEND key that you totally misunderstood
another's message.
You should also remember that there are real human beings reading your words
and write accordingly. There's enough rudeness and disrespect in the world
already. We don't need more of it here on MoPo.
