Hey, how about some examples, like specific titles? This is the kind of thing a collector wouldn't normally forget. I wanna hear more.
A number of times I've contacted Hershenson to correct errors, e.g., like the Graduate, the non-Oscar Amadeus and the E.T. bicycle moon advance, be they about provenance, historical dating or even dimensions. Each time I did, he or his staff looked into it and corrected it almost immediately. He's not a god, and I did tangle with him in the early days, but no more.
Yes he's a hyper-competitive animal and has a thin skin for some things. But his success is NOT an accident nor do I believe, as implied above, that making up s*** is part of his recipe to maintain it.
