What a great idea, Cindy.  I guess to start with:  great packing, insurance, credit in the program and perhaps something to show the IRS.  I wish you so much luck on this series; it sounds wonderful.

Our towns original theater, The Rialto, is celebrating its 80th anniversary this weekend.  They celebrated by showing Douglas Fairbanks in The Mark of Zorro.  It would have been cool had I known in advance and asked for material on the film as a loaner through MOPO connections.  Can you imagine having the Rialto and our local museum showing posters, WCs, lobbies, pressbooks and glass slides from the first year that the theater was open?

If I could get advance notice on the films picked for the 90th, what would be required to make people comfortable in loaning their material?  We have a very respected museum that does great art shows that could handle curatorial duties, conservation, etc.  Insurance could be covered, proper handling and shipping, climate control.  Probably the museum would put on a show with more movies and the orchestra.  There is a well-maintained theater organ installed in the Lory Center at CSU which is often played along with classic silent films.  Theyve got a great art department as well.

What would it take for you to feel comfortable about loaning your material to such a show?

Just wondering,

Cheers,

Cindy
