Sprint uses India outsourcing for their customer care. I just went
through an incredible 3+ month experience of trying to get a cell phone
rebate. After fighting my way through numerous menu choices without
being able to contact a human, I finally discovered that if I chose a
menu option that had nothing to do with my problems, I finally reached
a real person but they were in India and just read answers out of a
manual. After being told that I did not qualify for the rebate after
first being told that I did, they finally agreed to send the rebate.
However, the 4 to 6 week period for receipt of the rebate was recycled
every time I contacted them. So what should have taken 4 to 6 weeks
took 3 and a half months. I am convinced that a good portion was either
due to lack of knowledge by the persons in India or due to
communication problems. I am convinced that they hire the cheapest
people they can find, give them a manual and minimal training and put
them on a phone hoping that the web of menus will cause you to give up
before you reach they so called customer care people.
