Laura,
You're making a mistake in logic. You are saying of AOL users that "we're not having a problem" but basing that on your personal individual experience. It would be more accurate to say "I have not had a problem." Obviously lots of other people have been having a problem, they have reported those problems on this list. Surely you're not suggesting they are lying about the problems they have had trying to communicate with AOL users?
You also use the word "AOL-haters". But wait... why would anyone hate AOL? Or hate AOL users? Noboyd "hates" Earthlink or Netzero or PeoplePC or AT&T on any other internet service provider -- so why would they "hate" AOL?
What you are calling hate is really frustration -- the result of the seemingly endless problems many people have had over the years (and particularly over the past six months) in trying to communicate with AOL users. It is not hate. It is frustration. And it isn't something people are making up just to be mean. What would be the point in that? People are feeling this way about AOL for only one reason: Because of the very real experiences they have had trying to deal with AOL.
The fact that you don't seem to had these problems doesn't mean that the problems other people have been having are not real. Why would they makes these things up? For instance, if you check out the MOPO archives for the last 3 weeks you will see plenty of messages from long-time, honest, reliable and really very nice people who specifically tell about the problems they've been having trying to deal with AOL.
These people aren't making this stuff up you know. To view the archives, use this link:

I have been a seller on eBay for about five years now. During that entire time I have used an AOL account to conduct business and, yes, to receive hundreds of emails from NON AOL users. I have never once had a customer complain that I wasn't receiving their emails or that I was failing to respond to emails that had somehow not been delivered to me.And, yes, I received the below MOPO email just fine, just as I have all MOPO email since the day that Scott said the general MOPO problem had been resolved. You guys can slam AOL and all its "crazy" users all you want, but personal experience speaks the loudest, and thus far my personal experience is that I have no problem whatsoever receiving email on my AOL account from anyone, whether they are an AOL user or NOT.I think it's kind or rude to suggest AOL users get a mass lobotomy because we're supposedly in the dark about all the email we're not getting. What seems crazy to me if that you AOL haters won't accept our word for the fact that we're not experiencing any problems getting email.Perhaps you ought to pick up a phone and call Freeman Fisher to find out why he hasn't responded to your emails. Maybe he's out of town.LauraIn a message dated 7/24/2005 11:12:51 P.M. Central Daylight Time, [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes:
