18% buyer's premium... when did buyer's premiums start creeping over 15% on movie poster auctions?

Am I the only one who thinks that an auction house which is getting 15% from the seller and 15% from the buyer (a total of 30% of the hammer price) is plenty enough?

Regarding The Hollywood Poster Auction:

The buyer's premium is 18% if, and ONLY if, the buyer chooses to pay by credit card.  Payment by personal check, traveler's check, money order, or cash produces a 3% DISCOUNT, making the buyer's premium 15%.  Three percent is what the credit card companies charge the sellers to use the credit card companies service, and this charge is passed on to the buyer IF the buyer pays by credit card.

I am NOT affiliated with the Hollywood Poster Auction.  I have run the Vintage Poster Art Auction in Columbus, Ohio, with Morrie Everett, for the past 13 years.  At the Vintage Poster Art Auction, the buyers premium is 15%, and we charge a 3% "Administrative Fee" to use a credit card.  Whether you get a discount for NOT using a credit card, or pay an administrative fee FOR using a credit card the result is the same.  Which is still better than the 18% or 20% that some major auction houses have been charging for a couple of years now.  If we were unable to recoup the 3% fee for credit card use, we would have to eliminate credit cards as an option for payment.
