Excuse me Al, but I think anyone in this movie poster
collecting community does have a right to comment on something like this
when it comes up in public. We've all been victims of inaccurate descriptions in
the past and it damn well is our business -- we all have a vested interest in
knowing about this sort of thing. The more public information there is about it
when it happens, the less likely some people will be to "fudge" their
descriptions and put up photos that don't really show anything in the future.
And that's good for all of us buyers --and good for the sellers who want to do
fair and honest business with us.
As for the idea that no one can judge a poster from pictures -- don't be
absurd. You know that is PRECISELY how all of us judge posters every day when we
make a decision to bid on a poster auction -- or to buy one outright from a
dealer. How else are we supposed to judge it? It isn't practical to go and
physically examine the posters we buy before we purchase. We have to rely on the
picture and on the seller's words.
And THAT is precisely where you screwed up, Al -- In the words you used to
describe the poster and the picture you put up which didn't show the
condition issues at all. If you had been accurate from the start, none of this
would have happened. If you can't understand that, then you'd better find
another business, because people in the movie poster community are tired of
having this kind of stunt pulled on them -- and then having the seller get huffy
and insulting with them about it when they complain.
