 I know that with all the disaster's going on that "Tonight Show" desk's and microphones don't seem important. But these are artifacts of a legendary show with a legendary host. I don't think we will ever see the like's of Johnny's talent ever again. I would hope that these items eventually turn up in a television museum so all can enjoy them and remember Johnny and all the entertainment he gave us over the years.
 
I don't think Johnny would laugh at the prices these props fetched. I think he was a very private man and would be touched by the fact that so many people held him in such high esteem. A one of a kind legend. Admired by many people. Including me. I spent a lot of hours watching him over the years. I don't even watch late night television anymore. Johnny was like a friend. It was sort of reassuring that Johnny Carson was on the tv. It's not the same anymore without him. IMHO
