Hi Walter

If properly declared, we get stiffed with 15% excise taxes on the Canadian value as well as broker fees for Customs time in filling out the correct forms.  If the poster is marked US$20, it will cost me just under CDN$9 to pick up.  It's a drag.  That's why I go the illegal route when I can.

The best method for a more expensive poster is to ship by a trackable and trusted courier like Fed-Ex.  Mark a low value and take your chances.  Knowing that your seller is a good packer, of course.

Take care,
Michael

I know that, if properly declared, there is no duty in the US or the UK on old movie posters. What is the law in Canada? thanks!
