When you realize an eBay transaction is starting to go badly, don't get lazy
like I did. Make sure you don't give up your right to file claims before
important deadlines pass. Paypal has a 30-day window to file a Buyer
Protection Claim--which can expire before you realize it if you include the
days/weeks it may take for correspondence, payment clearance and
shipping/receipt. The Ebay complaint deadline for an "Item Significantly Not
As Described" expires in 90 days, but you can still file a complaint via the
Security Center page's "Report Another Problem"--which JR mentioned in a
recent post (thanks for the tip JR).
It sounds like you've given the seller a chance to make the transaction
right and haven't gotten anywhere. If the item isn't of significant value,
you might just want to give the seller negative feedback and move on.
