Fellow Mopo's and friends,

I received Grey's Heritage Movie Poster auction book a week ago and I am still in sheer delirium. What an amazing selection, once again. It is always incredible to see such posters being offered. The auction book itself is HUGE. It is almost like a book or reference book for any movie poster collectors. Nobody else is providing such detailed description of the movie and posters as Grey and his team. Having Ron Moore on Grey's side does obviously help. I have not seen such selection of one of a kind pieces for a very very long time. Anyone loving or collecting posters or just enjoying movies will treasure this book and auction.
I wish Grey could do more auctions a year. I have been buying posters from Grey's auctions since his very first auction and the service and quality of their team is outstanding. He is one of the best out there in our hobby. I will be going for many lots again this time. Too bad, I wont have time to be there life this time around. Being life at Grey's auctions is an amazing experience. I might change my mind again and do participate. The motions and life interaction and seeing other bidders going after pieces is nerve wrecking. If anyone has a chance to be at Grey;s auctions, I beg you, GO. You will not be disappointed for a second. The action is not stopping and it lasts for two days. ALmost like paradise. You see the phon! e bidders going after items and then internet bidders and life bidders going on each other. Just fun. In any case, I love and collect movie posters since 23 years. The arrival of Grey;s Heritage auctions was sort of a blessing. It has created a new wave of new collectors. Other big auction houses like Bonhams, Christies, and others are stepping up as well on movie poster auctions. It would be great to see Sotheby coming back as well. One thing for certain, it will be difficult to compete with Grey. We thought life auctions are dead but they are alive and coming back with full force. Many people like myself just don't have the time and patience to check EBAY all the time and deal with risky dealers or transactions. I rather pay! a little more if necessary but have piece in mind of a solid transact ions. I have been screwed too may times in the past with EBAY auctions from sellers. Anyhow, I cant wait to make my list for next week. I really should participate, thinking when I write my little essay. Just keep typing. I hope Bruce could be back for life auctions again. He might find many buyers that just dont do internet auctions. Every single serious hobby has a lifely and healthy life auction arena.
Anyhow, I feel fortunate having Grey and Heritage pushing the envelope big time and see my good guys, they are successful. Grey, you should go for 1,200 plus lots next time.
I would love to hear other MOPO's thoughts on some ideas or comments raised. I am always surprised we don't talk more about life auctions and pieces offered, etc....

Anyhow, HAPPY HUNTING everyone!!!!!!!!!

Philipp
