Sean Linkenback mentioned to me that the quality and etc and my bitcching lamenting the drop in the shows attendance and sales by dealer was becoming repetative.
Well , of course the classics will sell in the higher range, and obviously I could put my Outlaw, my large hand painted "Misfits" Italian, Niagra, Treasure of sierra Madre on ebay but I won't. My point is and was, that these 50's and 60's "b"'s 1/2 sheets, inserts, one sheets well, they were selling even in the 25 to 50 dollar range. And the Durango Kid that he fluffed of in one sentence, well, it was the second in the series the "Return of" and would at one time have brought at leat 200 or more at auction. But those Western buyer, the Roy rogers guys, the Gene autry guys, well thery're disappearing slowly and sadly and newer folks yournger folks are coming in and the big interest in and the wider intere!
st in the
artwork, the pieces to hand up on the wall, in restaurants etc. they're gone as well.
So keep watching and you'll see the shows are not going to be bringing in the "big huge crowds they once did!" Ray Courts! He wasa the King and he had and has the best of the best. But the dealers there just don't have the sales. How do I know? I personally spoke to many of them at the Burbank show. Lots of disappointments. So don't blame my bitching, blame the demographics dude and thats whats happening. More folks don't even know who charlie Chan is anymore and thats a fact.
