After a month off from my weekly auctions, I am starting the New Year right, with a huge stack of half-sheets, all starting at 99 cents, with NO reserve on any poster!  I currently have 905 vintage half-sheets (22" X 28") on eBay ending Tuesday the 3rd. Around 150 of these posters are in really wonderful condition and come from a single consignor, who purchased the posters directly from an exchange. Those posters were printed for theater-use, but never made it to a theater. They went directly from the shelves of the exchange to our consignor, which is why they have survived in such remarkable condition! Around 500 of these posters come to us from a person who got them directly from an actual theater that displayed them, and they show the typical signs of handling at a theater; they have creases, smudges, sometimes pinholes, sometimes tape, sometimes tape stains, and other border defects, and many were roughly folded, and were opened and closed many times as they were passed from theater to theater, and therefore are in "lesser" condition. If you are the sort of collector who is condition conscious, you should probably NOT bid on any of our items graded "lesser", but if you are forgiving of minor defects, you will likely find that you can accept the kinds of defects that many of our "lesser" condition posters have! The remaining 250 or so posters come to us from a variety of consignors and are in "very good" or "very good to fine" condition (and of course we grade more harshly than most eBay sellers!), and all but the most condition conscious collectors would be happy with these posters.
There are LOTS of "better" titles in this sale (you can tell right off if you sort them by price, Jailhouse Rock, the rare "b-style" Psycho, The Time Machine, North By Northwest, The 7th Voyage of Sinbad, Ocean's 11, Rio Bravo, the 1918 Riders of the Purple Stage, a rare original of The Enforcer,, etc, etc!). Many of these better titles are still WAY under where you would expect to see them priced on any website (the ones you can find anywhere else!)
Note that I mention that The Enforcer is "original". In recent years a huge number of inserts and some half-sheets of certain top titles of the 1970s have been offered in the collector's market. We believe (as does almost every major dealer) that these are surely counterfeits. They can be distinguished from genuine half-sheets by their extra glossy front and back, and their "whiter-than-white" appearance. ALL OF THE HALF-SHEETS WE ARE SELLING THIS WEEK ARE 100% GENUINE AND THEATER-USED (are printed to be used in theaters, but found in poster exchanges prior to going to a theater)! You have no fears of being sold a reproduction when you buy from us this week on eBay!

Since every single poster started at just 99 cents with no reserve there will be surely some real "steals". As of this writing (WITH JUST A DAY LEFT TO GO!), around 70 of these posters are still at just 99 cents each(!), around 300 are under $3 each(!), and around 550 of them are still under $7 each, and yet every single poster will be sold Tuesday night (the 3rd), since all have no reserve! And almost all of the more than 350 half-sheets that are currently over $7 are still far below their regular "retail" prices (the ones you could find anywhere else)!
Remember that this week you only pay $8 U.S. shipping no matter how many of these 905 half-sheets you get, so in effect, once you buy any one poster, then all the rest you get are postpaid (in the U.S.) so if you see even just one poster you really want, then you should be looking over all the rest of the posters quite closely, for you may be able to add some extra half-sheet posters for just a couple of dollars each, and that doesn’t happen to any of us very often!

I know it can be difficult to look over this many items in just a couple of days, but remember you can use our exclusive Current Auction Image Gallery (which is located at http://www.emovieposter.com/gallery/currentauctions.php ) which has large thumbnails of all our eBay items, and links from each item to the actual eBay auction. Best of all, this gallery is searchable! You will really find this a great benefit if you want to look at all of our items this week! You can simply browse all of our current items by viewing the images in this gallery (40 to a page, but you can set it to display up to 100 items a page, depending on the speed of your Internet connection) in our number order, or you can use our search to only see thumbnails of your specific search terms (in our number order)! NOTE THAT THIS GALLERY NOW HAS A RECENT BID PRICE LISTED BY EACH ITEM, AND THE PRICES ARE UPDATED AT LEAST ONCE A DAY! THIS GALLERY CAN ALSO NOW BE SORTED BY PRICE (high to low or low to high), WHICH IS A GREAT HELP TO THOSE OF YOU WANTING TO JUST FOCUS ON THE BEST (or least expensive) ITEMS!
I urge all of you to go to our gallery this week and at least glance over all the large thumbnails, EVEN IF YOU HAVE NO INTEREST IN BIDDING ON THESE ITEMS! Why do I say this? Because it is fun to “window shop” when you are looking at this well-organized gallery, especially given all the many rare half-sheets we are selling this week (many of which have images completely different from the corresponding one-sheets)!

Be sure to check out these 905 half-sheet 22" x 28" movie posters sometime before they end Tuesday night, January 3rd, starting at around 7 PM CST (either by going to http://www.emovieposter.com/gallery/currentauctions.php or by using the link from my HOME page, http://www.emovieposter.com or by looking me up under my eBay user ID, emovieposter.com). Good luck on whatever you may bid on!
