Not every mind can absorb violence and shrug it off. Some people, especially young and impressionable ones can easily confuse fantasy with reality. You may not hear about them everyday but it certainly does occur. I am like you. I can watch it and not be affected to react-some weak minded souls are affected. If someone's family member ever gets abducted (God? forbid) by a psychopath try not to think about the awful things one human being can do to another. Like you said-horrible shit goes on in the world everyday. Who needs to watch more for entertainment value. But this is America and to each his own.
