Yes, Evan, you are exactly correct. Everyone in this hobby who knows me
knows that I don't have a collection. That was a decision I made
a long time ago: not to both deal and collect posters. It has been a
sound
decision for me. While I love the material and get to see plenty of
it, there
are no posters at MovieArt that are not for sale. The upside of this
is that
my customers never have to hear that old tale about some poster that
I am
offering being from "my personal collection." I always thought that
that kind
of sales pitch was a most transparent ruse. The posters that are at
MovieArt
are in my inventory. And a fairly broad inventory it is, too. Of
course, no
dealer may have everything.

I have a few posters that I own personally, and, if this seems like a
contradiction,
it isn't. They are just the odd poster here and there, probably not
more than 10
posters, often of little monetary value that I think are beautiful.
There is one
poster that was in one of Bruce Hershenson's early auctions at
Christies that
I was taken with and that I should have bought for myself. It was a
Texas Guinan
title, "Queen of the Nightclubs." Stunning. I think it sold for
over $5000. I don't
exactly remember. But I've never seen it again.

There are other things I collect, though, so I understand the mentality.
Recordings and books, especially cookbooks.

I don't think that this really counts. Any poster thats "for sale"

inventory.

My "Crimson Pirate" poster is part of my collection -- and one of
my favorites.

Best?

Hard to say.

Great? Undoubtedly: 24 sheet NIAGARA. 20 foot Marilyn border to
border. One of the greatest U.S. 24 sheets and a peerless
Marilyn icon.

This item is for sale.

Hi Andy:

Good topic! I would say my linenbacked 63" x 94" French two panel
from "Thunderball" (1965). This is the similar style to the
American 24 sheet. I will have to take out a loan to get it framed
but I am determined to have this done. I am just thankful it's
possible to have it done. I appreciate all the encouragement from
friends like Bruce and Sue. My Dad's not too thrilled with the
prospect of this. But it's going to happen. My target date is my
birthday in May. For month's and counting!!!

Best,
