That auction for the Son of Drac card was a strange one. It was up over 500
very quickly, then dropped down to $86 for what was termed an
"administrative cancellation," then started creeping back up. Makes one
wonder what's going on when it's a private auction with bidders identities
secret. Probably nothing, but I don't like private auctions on ebay--yeah,
yeah I know all the big auction houses have anonymous bidding online--I
still don't like 'em. They just don't feel right.
But anyway, as a Realart collector I'm not cheering along with you dealers
about prices like this. Just more evidence that the collector of modest
means is now being pushed out of Universal horror altogether. My only hope
is that the people who treat the posters like stock certificates will hear
"SELL! SELL!" and dump enough of them on the market that some of us poor
folk can get a few scraps after the deep pockets crowd finishes feeding.
Poor pitiful me. --Tom
