Yes, best of luck with whatever plans you have in the future and with finding a new owner for MoviePosterBid.

Date: Tue, 21 Feb 2006 17:35:42 -0800 JR -- I am giving you a standing ovation. I hope you can hear it. :) I believe in the long run genre specific auction sites will do well. Just as genre specific cable channels do on TV. Food, History, Entertainment all have cable channels. And just as the old TV networks have a little bit of everything, EBAy will continue to do that. But I can see a day when individual specific auction sites appear and do well as they reach that exact audience. Just as the History Channel does. The key will be how the auction sites and their content get listed in the search engines. The aggregators of content both digital and physical will be these search engines. Right now EBAY owns all Google searches for auctions and posters. That's where I would start if you had a marketing budget. BUT - That's another story. What is most impressive is you had a vision, you know what you wanted to build, you built it and ran it. A lot of people talk the talk, there are very few who actually walk the walk. As the saying goes. Congratulations on everything. Best of luck on your new adventures, whatever they may be. Yes, the rumors are true... after two years of operating www.MoviePosterBid.com, I am bowing out -- recently some new commitments have come up in my life which will mean that I won't be able to continue running the movie poster auction site myself. But several people have expressed an interest in purchasing the site, so after a bit of thought I decided the only fair and appropriate thing to do is to auction off the ownership of the site -- and, of course, hold the auction on MPB itself. I thought about holding the auction on eBay, but just couldn't bring myself to do it. The past two years have been fun, educational and, yeah, also frustrating on a few occasions. But I've enjoyed it, and the MPB site has developed into something that a new owner could well take to another level with the investment of some time, energy and money. I would love to see all the work and money I've put into the auction site continue in some fashion -- so I'm starting the bidding at a mere $250 with NO RESERVE: http://www.movieposterbid.com/itemdetl.asp?id=10161 -- JR Visit the MoPo Mailing List Web Site at www.filmfan.com ___________________________________________________________________ How to UNSUBSCRIBE from the MoPo Mailing List Send a message addressed to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] In the BODY of your message type: SIGNOFF MOPO-L The author of this message is solely responsible for its content.
