for those of you watching the auction tonight I'm sure that you know
I was the lucky winner of the auction for http://www.movieposterbid.com
I'm happy to have won and talking to JR after the auction, I wanted
to get out an email to the group about what my intentions are for the site
very simply.....
NOTHING WILL CHANGE
The site will continue to operate as it has been operating. There
will be no listing fees and the only charges will be commissions &
featured auctions. All sellers & buyers will be able to continue
doing whatever they were doing . So if you were worried someone was
going to take it private.. Don't worry. Absolutely nothing will
change from the way JR was operating the site.. except
I plan on adding features to the site including reactivating the
buy-it-now function which will be called "I'll Take It!".
I will be advertising in Big Reel, Classic Images, MCW and other pubs
as well as getting sponsor links on other websites
I will be promoting many more dealers to list material on a regular
basis so that there can be a better selection of posters for sale as
well as adding other collectibles to a sub site like comics, pulps &
other things that movie poster collectors frequently also collect. I
also plan on finding a premier dealer (or dealers) who can provide
the site with a major auction once in a while
I also plan on adding seller "general stores" so you can list
craploads of merchandise.
These are just some of the things I have planned.. But I wanted to
make sure that any fears of change that people had was allayed..
There will be no changes that affect any of you in a negative way.
Hopefully I can only bring many more positives to you all with my
management of teh site
and please .. anyone with any suggestion (aside from telling me where
to put that cactus) please email me & I will happily read them
