The easiest thing to do is give it a shot and see if anyone fires back at you
(heh...). The official guidelline which says it is only OK to talk about movie
posters on MOPO is kind of like the War Power Act. It is only there in case of
national emergency or civil insurrection. It is rarely invoked or enforced --
primarily because this is an eclectic group that doesn't mind chatting about
different things, so long as we don't drift too far afield from the movie
theater (even the home theater... which usually has movie posters, after
all...). MOPO is also self-enforcing, which means that if a thread gets too
far out of bounds that other members will start pointing that out and that is
usually enough to divert us back to something closer like "on topic". You'll
know if you get too far out, but the only "penalty" will be somebody
mentioning the fact.
