Hi
I've been reading the De Niro topic quietly in the background waiting to pounce at a good time ;-)
Obviously I agree with Toochis that De Niro is definitely not over-rated. When you look at the films he has starred in you can see he has an outstanding Acting career and portfolio. I also agree with Zeev when he says that he doesn't play characters of great intelligence, but then that's not what he's best at and I'm sure he would agree with that. De Niro is unique in that he spends a lot of research and time getting into a character, more so in his older films. Yes he has been in some pretty dull films recently but looking back at his career he has been in some of the best known films in the world and worked alongside some Great Directors. Goodfellas, Deer Hunter, Raging Bull, Godfather II, The Untouchables, Mean Streets, Once upon a Time in
I'm looking forward to his next Mafia film "The Winter of Frankie Machine" - Back to what he's best at.
A totally unbiased view from me ;-)
Thanks
Andy
