I want to let all readers of this forum know of the really excellent group of 744 mostly “oversized” movie paper items (from 17 different countries, with a large number each of U.S. 6-sheets, British Quads and Argentineans) which I added to eBay on Saturday, February 25th, starting at around 7 PM CST, as 10 day auctions, ending Tuesday night, March 7th. Why are these 10 day auctions, rather than my usual 7 day auctions, and why did I not add any items on the 21st, ending on the 25th?
Two reasons. First, we had done so much auctioning the past few weeks that we needed to take a break so we can catch up on sending all the orders. Not only did we sell LOTS of material, but one week was mostly linenbacked posters (that require careful packing in our heavyweight tubes), and one week was mostly very oversized posters (that require large flat packages) and then we topped it off with selling over 6,000 lobby cards in over 1,320 lots, so those weeks require lots of time spent carefully packing and shipping those many hundreds of purchases, and of course none of the buyers wants us to rush packing or sending THEIR order!
Second, our office manager, Angie Fish is taking a well-deserved one week vacation from the 27th to the 3rd, and she is so integral to our operation here that I definitely did not want any auctions ending while she was gone! So “skipping” a week meant she was here for the auctions that ended the 21st, and will be back at work when the next ones end on March 7th. And as long as I was going to be “missing” a week anyway, I went ahead and listed the current items three days “early”, as 10 day auctions, because there are a lot of really great items in this current group of mostly “oversized” items, and they are very deserving of having an “extra” three days to be seen by all collectors.
What are “oversized” items? They are anything that doesn’t fit in our standard 11” x 14” mailers, or which can’t be rolled and sent in our standard 32” and under tubes. Two weeks ago, we sold most of the VERY oversized items we had here, mostly 14” x 22” window cards, and Italian and French one and two-panels, which measure only slightly smaller than a window card when folded in the usual way. This week, we sell mostly the slightly oversized items, like 6-sheets, British Quads and Argentineans, and also a lot of “odds and ends” items. We had some window cards and French and Italian posters that missed the auction two weeks ago, so we included those as well. Note that a very few of these items CAN be sent in our regular mailers (perhaps because they were folded an extra time), but it still makes more sense to list them here, along with all the other posters of the same size that were not folded an extra time. Of course, when it comes to packing the orders, we will make sure to pack everything as economically as possible, as long as it doesn’t at all mean increasing the chances of damage.
What is in these current auctions? A lot of really rare and desirable items! The auction starts out with 15 really cool James Bond posters, including a very rare Thunderball 6-sheet! Next comes four REALLY special paperbacked posters (a Frankenstein Meets the Wolfman window card and three nice half-sheets, including Gun Crazy), then a bunch of posters from a variety of countries, then a bunch of really rare English one-sheets, three-sheets six-sheets, and some ultra-rare English door-panels (including many "country of origin" titles!). Next comes U.S. door panels, subway posters, and a bus stop poster and a couple of tri-folded three-sheets. Then there are seven 24-sheets (billboard posters, around 9 feet by 20 feet!), and three French 24-sheets! Next there are more French posters, some Australian three-sheets, and a selection of 40x60s, 30x40s, and rare two-sheets. Next are some special U.S. posters, various Italian posters (including a complete set of 12 original photobustas from The Bicycle Thief in the original envelope(!), some oversized still sets, and some scarce jumbo lobby cards, and some window cards. The auction wraps up with around 175 six-sheets (including a SPECTACULAR original 1940 One Million B.C., and two 1915 titles with incredible graphics!), 60 British Quads (including many "country of origin" titles!), and over 100 Argentinean posters!
A really high percentage of these items are ones that you almost surely have never seen before, and a lot are likely one of a handful of surviving examples, and some are likely the ONLY surviving example! But don't take MY word for this! Just look over the all items offered and see for yourself. You will quickly see there are lots of really top-of-the-line TRULY RARE items!
But since every single one of these items started at just 99 cents with no reserve there will be surely some real bargains, and maybe a few outright "steals"! The bidding has just started a couple of days ago, so there is no telling how high (or low!) these items will go, but as always in my NO reserve there will likely be a fair number of items that end up at ridiculously low prices. But YOU can't get those great deals if you aren't bidding! AND YOU HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE! If you place a bunch of low bids but only get one or two items, then you are sure to be happy, for you will have gotten some really good deals. Even if get nothing, you will only be out a little of your time, and no more (since this is one major auction you don't need to travel to, or even leave your computer for!).

REMEMBER THAT IN THESE AUCTIONS (as in all my online auctions), THERE ARE NO OUTRAGEOUS BUYER'S PREMIUMS! Other auctions charge between 15% and 20% EXTRA, for no other reason than to line their pockets with your money. In these auctions, what you bid is what you pay, plus the actual cost of shipping the item to you, plus $2 for packaging materials. If you have ever bought from any other "major" auction company, you are probably still stunned by their buyers premiums and by how much "handling" fees they packed onto their shipping charges, but we never do that!

I know it can be difficult to look over this many great items, but remember you can use our exclusive Current Auction Image Gallery (which is located at http://www.emovieposter.com/gallery/currentauctions.php ) which has large thumbnails of all our eBay items, and links from each item to the actual eBay auction. Best of all, this gallery is searchable! You will really find this a great benefit if you want to look at all of our items this week! You can simply browse all of our current items by viewing the images in this gallery (40 to a page, but you can set it to display 20 items to a page or up to 100 items a page, depending on the speed of your Internet connection) in our number order, or you can use our search to only see thumbnails of your specific search terms! NOTE THAT EACH ITEM IN THIS GALLERY HAS A RECENT BID PRICE LISTED, AND THE PRICES ARE UPDATED AT LEAST ONCE A DAY! THIS GALLERY CAN BE SORTED BY PRICE (high to low or low to high), WHICH IS A GREAT HELP TO THOSE OF YOU WANTING TO JUST FOCUS ON THE BEST (or least expensive) ITEMS! I urge all of you to go to our gallery this week and at least glance over all the large thumbnails, EVEN IF YOU THINK YOU HAVE NO INTEREST IN BIDDING ON THESE ITEMS! Why do I say this? Because it is fun to “window shop” when you are looking at this well-organized gallery, especially given all the many wonderful items we are selling this week (it is likely many of them will have images you have never seen before)!

Be sure to check out these 744 mostly “oversized” movie paper items (from 17 different countries, with a large number each of U.S. 6-sheets, British Quads and Argentineans) sometime before they end Tuesday night, March 7th, starting at around 7 PM CST (either by going to http://www.emovieposter.com/gallery/currentauctions.php or by using the link from my HOME page, http://www.emovieposter.com or by looking me up under my eBay user ID, emovieposter.com). Good luck on whatever you may bid on!
