I was only getting to know Dennis in these last few months. He and I had a
lively interchange about the Casablanca half sheet, which appeared on ebay,
and which I eventually bought. I loved his candor, and it was obvious how
much he loved both the films and the posters that went with them.
He was trying to find more posters for silent horror films, and I was just
beginning to try to find some for him. The few conversations that we had
were lively, and he was a true collector indeed.
My thoughts do go out to his family, what a terrible loss.

Dennis will indeed be very much missed by many people in the poster
community, but nothing like the way he will be missed by his wife and
daughter, and our feelings go out to them and his family.
How young is too young? I don't know, but 41 is way too young.
His lively interchanges with other members at NSFGE were and will remain
a highlight of NFSG's history. Despite his sometimes 'in ya face, this
is what I think' approach, what I always liked so much about him was his
complete no-nonsense attitude to what he was saying and always saying
what he meant. Some folks never realised that what Dennis was doing in
his own sweet (if expletive-laden) way was giving very sound advice to
novice collectors.
From my few brief exchanges with him off forums, the fact that he loved
the films he collected material from was just as important to him as the
posters themselves.

The ultimate collectors collector. I am going to miss Dennis big time.
I had never met Dennis in person but we talked many hours of phone and
email over the past 5 years. I showcased his collection twice in MCW.
He was always there for me. My condolences to Deb, his daughter and
his family. I am so sick over this i can't even write........RIP my
blood brother. drV
