i agree with JR when he says this bidder bit off a lot more than he could chew. sellers are waiting to be paid. i received private emails from a few who stated that his excuses are lame. of course, i recognize that payments must be prompt.
i gave his ebay ID when i first reported the problem.
the reason i wrote earlier today, was to say that i received partial payment. i did not make him into a saint.
i made the report to MOPO when he became unregistered. i reported the problem to ebay after that time, and got back my ebay fees.
when i first saw that he became unregistered, i thought he was skipping out. i never realized that ebay was behind this as a result of numerous sellers complaining. thanks, JR, for addressing that. (in fact----my original MOPO post stated he had prior problems, based on feedback that ebay removed.)
he was wrong to bid if he had no intention of paying immediately. howver, i did have an obligation to tell MOPOers that i received partial payment, since i first reported that i received nothing and he became unregistered.
believe me JR, i do not like the transaction because of the significantly late payment (and i still wait for the balance); I merely reported the facts with minimal editorial. and, as i stated above, i didn't make hm into a saint!!!! i need not address this further with MOPOers, because i met my reponsibility to share this with the MOPO community. This is one of the good features of MOPO.

Michael,
It's good to know the guy apparently plans to make good. But you are wrong about one important thing: It may not have been his choice to become "unregistered" from eBay, but it most definitely WAS his fault that he was suspended from eBay. He was suspended because he forced to many sellers to file non-payment reports on him. If he had paid those sellers in a reasonable time-frame, they would not have reported him and he would not have been suspended. The guy clearly has a problem with eyes that are bigger than his wallet. He may intend to pay for everything, eventually, but that is not how it is supposed to work. You are supposed to pay for the items you buy with a week or two at the most unless you make prior arrangements with the seller. This is how most of us bid -- and determines our maximum bid to a large extent -- and someone who is willing to bid whatever, figuring he can just take as long as he needs to come up with the payment, is biddin!
g with an unfair advantage. Not to mention the fact that a seller has a right to expect reasonably prompt payment.
So, he should get negative feedback even if he does finally cough up the money.
I do wish people would name user IDs in situations like this, if they are going to go public with them at all.

i reported a "possible" problem a few days ago.
well.......despite the crazy scenarios that the buyer wrote, i have come to believe his sincerity.
1, last night he gave me a significant partial payment, and said he did they same to others. he said the balance in a week, and did not ask me to mail the poster. he told me he will honor all purchases once funds are re-credited to his credit card from some fraudulent activity.
2. a fellow MOPO member told me privately he got paid in full the night before last---- after he became an "unregistered member"
3. a few emails told me they had PRIOR good dealings.
4. he was upset that he became unregistered and said he was suspended because of yoo many nonpayment claims filed----so it was NOT his choice.
I WISH THIS DID NOT happen.....but the man seems sincere. it is inconvenient, but i am comfortable with the situation.
