Regarding the quote attributed to W.C. Fields, I have never heard
this. I never heard
any story in which W.C. Fields lionized the idea that he would be
SOBER ever.
There is a quite famous quote of Winston Churchill:
I may be drunk, Miss, but in the morning I will be sober and you will
still be ugly.
If W.C. Fields ever said this, I'd be interested to know where and
when he said it.
