PS
The spelling police will no doubt see my own abuse of the English language
in my previous email - "sought" should read "sort".

Subject: Poster Grading
I have always thought that the grading system that has been almost
universally used by everyone has really come close to an abuse of the
English language. The dictionary definition has a totally different meaning
to that used in grading posters. The word "good" in the world of movie
posters often means that a poster is beyond help and in need of major
restoration. I certainly cant find that sought of definition for "good" in
any dictionary.
I dont know if anyone will ever be able to come up with a universal system
because every dealer and collector has a different view of how to come up
with a decent condition description. I have started using a star grading
system on my website - 1 star being the lowest grade and 5 stars mint
condition. That takes away the vagueness but I also try to list any
defects in the description and I also use the old terminology "very good"
"fine" etc.
