Zeev,
From what I can tell, Bruce's price guide stays very much up to date... I
can often find the sales data from one of his auctions in the database a week or
two after it has ended. Of course, Bruce's price database only reflects results
of his own auctions, no one else's. The URL is:
I agree with you about PosterPrice.com. It is a once-great resource that
has been neglected so long now that it is only useful for a trip down memory
lane... investors and speculators can look at the high prices from the late
1990's and salivate and real collectors can go back further to the 1980s and wax
nostalgic about how low prices were back then. But it's useless for getting any
idea of what a poster is worth in today's market. I can't believe they charge
(and that people pay for) this horribly outdated information any longer.
Warren has made an effort lately to update his on-line price guide, but
last time I checked you did have to pay for it and it was still pretty
spotty. The other problem with it is that many of the prices Warren lists are
not based on current auction or private sales results, but are simply his own
opinion as to what a poster is worth. Interesting to get his viewpoint, perhaps,
but highly subjective and not much help in gauging the current market.
If you're a registered member of Heritage, their sales results database is
very much up to date, but like Bruce, it only lists results from their own
auctions.
That's it, as far as I know.

Subject: [MOPO] (MOPO) POSTER PRICES Hello everybody,
Sometime I like to refer to a price guide to
determine the value of a poster. Poster Price.com, which is the internet
version of the old Almanac, was a place I used frequently, but I find that the
new owners who purchased it off John Kisch, did not bother updating it much in
the last 3-4 years, in spite of the fact that you now have to pay an annual fee
in order to use it.
I know that Bruce Hershenson feels that his Sales
Results Database is much more relevant, but that too is not up to date.
Does anybody know how up to date it is ? Or are there TWO places on
Bruce's extensive website where one can look for this info?
I'm not familiar with John Warrens price
guide. Is it free? extensive? up to date?
I'll be very happy to receive your
feedback.
Thanks, Zeev
