Thanks JR
I will certainly keep it going on my site and add to it when time permits. It has been quite a bit of work in getting it all together but I really like the unique style of the Richardson Studio and I think the hand litho process is best demonstrated with these posters. The 30s and 40s are the best with some of the film noir titles like The Blue Dahlia but they are getting very difficult to find. There are a handful of collectors (including one in Paris) who have great collections but you just dont see the good ones turn up very often. Here is the link again....

John,

Man, that's one fine assembly of artwork from the Richardson Studios... thanks for putting it together and making it available to the public. Richardson's best stuff is as distinctive as Reynold Brown or Amsel or anyone else in the business and so uniquely evocative of an era. I hope this is going to be a permanent exhibition on your site?

Subject: [MOPO] POSTER EXHIBITION

Many collectors have recently begun to appreciate the artwork of The
Richardson Studio founded by John Richardson in the early 20s (my best guess
is 1923). Their artwork was produced for Paramount films through to 1960 and
was always distintively unique. I have put together an exhibition of
Richardson Studio posters on my website. The majority of these posters are
not for sale and a number of the posters are the only known copies to exist.
Thanks to Bruce Hershenson and Grey Smith for some of the images along with
a few other collectors. If anyone has images of Richardson Studio posters
that are not on my site please email images and I will be happy to include
them with a credit.

I hope you can take the time to have a look at the exhibition and I will be
adding more posters on a weekly basis until I run out of images.
